About
Daishin Stephenson is a photographer, Zen teacher, gardener and urban homesteader. A native of Phoenix, Arizona, she grew food in the Sonoran Desert for 24 years. Or, as she maintains, “I don’t grow food - I help food to grow.”
In 2012 she relocated to Portland, Oregon, where she is exploring deep ecology in the heart of the city.
All of her work - Zen teaching, visual art, gardening and writing - reflects her commitment to work with her environment, wherever she is, closing the gap between common dualistic ideas of what is “nature” and what is not.
